Tablet and Capsule Printing Systems

A tablet printing system is used to emboss medication with an identifying mark. The equipment is common in the pharmaceutical and nutraceutical industries for applying batch numbers, doses, brand names, and logos to drugs and supplements. In addition to equipment for tablets, there are capsule printing systems to apply marks on soft or hard gelatin capsules. Equipment may use laser marking with UV or CO2, inkjet printing, rotogravure printing, or pad printing. A system can typically imprint in one or two colors and may produce anywhere between 40,000 and 200,000 pieces per hour.
