Roquette, a pharmaceutical excipients producer, announced an agreement to acquire Qualicaps, a manufacturer of hard capsules for oral solid dosage.
The acquisition will expand Roquette’s global reach. Japan-based Qualicaps has manufacturing and R&D sites in Japan, Spain, Romania, Canada, the USA and Brazil–with a workforce of 1,400 employees.
The closing of the acquisition is expected to occur in Q4 2023 and remains subject to the fulfillment of some customary and legal conditions. The Mitsubishi Chemical Group retains ownership until then.
