Amneal Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Strides Pharma Science Limited have jointly announced the introduction of Icosapent ethyl acid soft gel capsules, a product referencing VASCEPA®. This product, in-licensed from Strides, a global pharmaceutical manufacturer, is set to be launched into the market by Amneal, commencing in the fourth quarter of 2023.
Icosapent ethyl acid soft gel capsules, available in 0.5g and 1g variants, represent an ethyl ester of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). They are indicated as an adjunct to diet for reducing triglyceride levels in adult patients with severe (≥ 500 mg/dL) hypertriglyceridemia.
