Global pharmaceutical and nutraceutical excipient manufacturer DFE Pharma has appointed Sven Abend, Ph.D., as the company’s new CEO.
Abend, who most recently served as CEO of Gelita, will succeed Martti Hedman and assume his responsibilities beginning in February. According to DFE, Hedman has voluntarily retired from his position after three years at the helm of DFE Pharma.

DFE Pharma is headquartered in Germany and jointly owned by multinational dairy company Royal FrieslandCampina and global investor CVC Capital Partners. The company recently announced an expansion of its Center of Excellence in Hyderabad, India, adding specialized analytical services for dry powder inhalation dosage forms.
