Colorcon, a global supplier of film coating technology and specialty excipients, announced the grand opening of a new film coating manufacturing facility in Johor, Malysia.
The Johor plant is Colorcon’s 7th major film coating plant and its 16th manufacturing facility worldwide.
The 200,000-square-foot facility will immediately employ 30 people and will serve as the company’s production hub for film coatings in the Asia Pacific region. The construction of the facility — located in Johor’s i-TechValley Industrial Park — began in August 2023 with an investment of approximately $50 million.
“This investment is aligned with our long-term vision to strengthen and de-risk our supply model for film coatings worldwide. Our goal is to anticipate market growth, adding capacity to ensure we are always a step ahead of demand,” said Colorcon CEO Simon Tasker.
