Rapport Therapeutics has reported positive results for its phase 2a clinical trial for RAP-219, an oral investigational TARPγ8-specific AMPAR negative allosteric modulator to treat drug-resistant focal onset seizures.
The trial achieved high statistical significance for the primary endpoint, with a 77.8% reduction in long episodes compared to the baseline. In addition, 24% of patients achieved freedom from seizures over the eight weeks of treatment. The drug, taken as a daily oral tablet, was generally well tolerated.
The results support advancing RAP-219 into phase 3 registrational trials, which Rapport plans for the third quarter of 2026.
