CellCentric has announced the completion of an oversubscribed $220 million in Series D financing to advance its oral drug, inobrodib, to treat relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (RRMM).
Inobrodib is a first-in-class p300/CBP inhibitor that completed a phase 2 study last year. In the clinical trial, heavily-pretreated patients (with a median of five lines of prior therapy) took the drug in combination with standard doses of pomalidomide and dexamethasone (InoPd). The dose-optimization data showed that the treatment led to a two-fold or more increase in response rates compared to historic alternative therapies.
The funding will enable continued enrollment in the phase 2 DOMMINO-1 study taking place in the U.S. and UK as well as the global phase 3 DOMMINO-2 trial. The capital will also support the development of inobrodib in other ways, including expansion into other combination and maintenance treatments.
Venrock Healthcare Capital Partners led the financing, along with participation from new investors Fidelity Management & Research Company, Sofinnova Partners, and HBM Healthcare and from existing investors RA Capital Management, Forbion, Pfizer, Avego BioScience Capital, and American Cancer Society BrightEdge.
