Global private investment firm and leading healthcare investor Bain Capital has purchased Vitabiotics, the largest vitamin company in the UK.
Vitabiotics' portfolio of trusted brands includes Pregnacare, Perfectil, Wellman, Wellwoman, Osteocare, and the Ultra range.
The acquisition gives Bain Capital all of the UK operations as well as the VB Group, which includes Meyer Organics in India, VB Egypt, and other operations in Africa. Some group entities are not part of the purchase and will continue to operate under their existing beneficial ownership structure.
Leading the investment is Bain Capital’s Asia Private Equity team, which will receive support from the company’s global platform. The aim is to support Vitabiotics as it continues to scale its brands, achieving growth internationally with a focus on MENA and China.
